After the first visit to Sarajevo, I’ve returned to explore the city for three weeks one day at a time. I was interested to see various locations linked to the history of the siege of the city. Each day was a new discovery, which I capture through spontaneous photographs that reflect my evolving impressions of the city.

The Kirchweih celebration in Franconia is not only a chance to honor the faith and history of a town but also a moment to celebrate the strong sense of regional pride and identity that runs deep in Bavarian culture. Each community has its own way of celebrating, but what remains constant is the joy, the music, the food, and, of course, the deep sense of camaraderie that brings everyone together. Whether through the collective raising of the Kärwabaum, the lively parades, or the shared joy of the Bierzelt, Kirchweih is a celebration of what it means to belong to a place—and to celebrate life together as a community.
